DASP authorization

What is the DASP authorization?

Digital Asset Service Providers (DASPs) must get a DASP license before starting operations in France. The DASP license is handed by the AMF (Autorité des marchés financiers), the French stock market regulator.

The providers subject to registration include the following activities:

  • digital asset custody,
  • buying or selling digital assets in a currency that is legal tender,
  • trading digital assets for other digital assets,
  • and operating a trading platform for digital assets.

Additionally, digital asset service providers must comply with relevant AML/CFT regulations.
